The four-to-five-bedroom home was bound by planning requirements to keep its original footprint and incorporate alterations and extensions only. This presented some big challenges, challenges, as the homeowners’ hopes for the property included design elements that could prove too great a load for the building’s foundations to bear.

An innovative design and clever use of steel brought cost-savings, time-savings, and compliance with planning regulations for this spectacular home.

This project home was designed with traditional farm barn buildings in mind but with a modern reimagining. The original building was traditional Lincolnshire Brick and Wood Crew Shed – Cart Shed.

Each view of this home offers a new perspective and sits beautifully within the existing agricultural holding.

Every project has its challenges and this one was no different. The River Chelmer runs around the building, and hence the area is known as the island.

A huge consideration in this project was that of flooding and this is a fantastic example of a building working with its environment as opposed to against it.

One of the key requirements of this project was to create a facility reflecting how buyers source information before booking viewings while creating an eco-friendly building and environment matching the needs of the modern world.

There was a need for easy access with car parking on site and the provision of electric vehicle charging stations for customers and clients.

The building is an environmentally low-impact facility designed and built using materials and technology that reduces its carbon footprint and lowers its energy
usage.

It has been designed with a mono-pitched roof which ensures the maximum amount of roof area can benefit from the full power of the sun.
