The project’s unique roof geometry demanded close collaboration between YSB, the client’s architect, and builders to mirror the aesthetic of the neighbouring home.

Steelwork, flashings, and structure were all custom-designed to replicate the home’s lines while minimising visual impact on the landscape. Despite the remote location — and the occasional snake eviction — the project was delivered smoothly, meeting all targets and showcasing YSB’s adaptability and teamwork on complex rural builds.

After trialling over 15 cladding options, the final mix of anthracite corrugated sheets, Siberian larch, and cedar achieved a perfect balance of modern style and rural character.
